Candy Coated Christmas

This tutorial was written by me on November 17th, 2012 and is my own creation. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP Version used: PSP9, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies:

Tube of choice. I am using the work of Jessica Dougherty. You must purchase her work and acquire a license to use his art. You can find her work here

PTU Candy Christmas kit by Purple's Kreationz. You can purchase this kit here

Template 132 by Millie's PSP Madness. You can find it here

Mask4Christmas2010 by Vix. You can download it here

Font of choice. I am using Scrappy Looking Demo.

Filters:

Alien Skin Xenofex 2.0 Constellation

Open your template. Delete the credits layer and wordart layer. Set the canvas size to 700 x 700. Resize all layers by 86%.

On the background layer, open paper 7 and your mask, minimize mask. Copy and paste your paper as a new layer. Apply your mask, merge group. Delete the background layer if desired.

Open element 40. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the upper right corner. Duplicate and place to the lower left corner. Merge these two layers together. Duplicate this layer, mirror. Move this layer just above layer 7. See my tag for reference.

On layer 1, select all, float, defloat. Open paper 10. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete. Deselect and delete the original layer.

On layer 2, add noise, gaussian, 74, monochrome checked.

On layer 3, select all, float, defloat. Open paper 3. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete. Deselect and delete the original layer.

Merge the small red circle layers together. Select all, float, defloat. Open paper 11. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete. Deselect and delete the original layer.

On layer 7 select all, float, defloat. Open paper 10 again. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete. Deselect and delete the original layer.

Create a linear gradient using #ca3a3a and #ffffff, angle 0, repeats 0.

On layer 8, select all, float, defloat. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with your gradient. Effects, Texture Effects, Blinds, 5, 40, color white, horizontal unchecked, light from left/top checked.

Alien Skin Xenofex 2.0 Constellation, 3.98, 100, 1, 2, 95, 61, angle 45, keep original image checked. Deselect and delete the original layer.

On layer 9, add noise with the same settings as before.

Open element 1. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the right side of your glitter frame.

Open element 17. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the top of the large rectangle layer. On the large rectangle layer, select all, float, defloat. On the icicle layer, selections, invert and press delete. Deselect. See my tag for reference.

Open element 27. Resize by 80%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom, slightly to the right of the center.

Open element 12. Resize by 50%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Rotate 80 degrees to the right. Place to the lower left of your tree. Duplicate, mirror and place to the bottom left of your frame. 

Open element 30. Resize by 95%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Move this layer just below the candy cane on the left side. Place to the bottom of your tag.

Open your tube. Copy and paste as a new layer and resize if necessary. Place over the left side of your tag.

Open element 3. Resize by 60%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the upper right side of your large circle layer.

Open element 26. Resize by 80%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the lower right corner.

Open element 35. Resize by 60%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom of the drink, slightly to the left.

Add your name, copyright, and license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice to your layers. Merge visible and save as a PNG or JPG.
