Under The Sea

This tutorial was written by me on May 25th, 2013 and is my own creation. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP Version used: PSP X5, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies:

Tube of choice. I am using the stunning work of Arthur Crowe. You can purchase this tube here

PTU Under The Sea kit by Kandii Popz Dezignz, and can only be purchased in Arthur's store here

Template 258 by Millie's PSP Madness. You can find it here

Texture 102_(3) by Sanami276. You can find it here

Mask 41 by Chas of the Creative Misfits. You can find it here

Font of choice. I am using I'm Fashionista!

Open your template and mask. Minimize your mask for now.

On your template, set the canvas size to 800 x 693. Resize all layers by 75%. Delete the credits layer.

Open paper 4. Copy and paste as a new layer above the background layer. Apply your mask, merge group. Add noise, gaussian, 50, monochrome checked.

On layer 1, select all, float, defloat. Open paper 5. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete. Deselect and delete the original layer.

On layer 2, select all, float, defloat. Open paper 4 again. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete. Deselect and delete the original layer.

Open the Sea. Copy and paste as a new layer and place over layer 2. On layer 2, select all, float, defloat. On the sea layer, selections, invert and press delete.

On layer 3, select all, float, defloat. Open paper 3. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete. Deselece and delete the original layer.

On layer 4, manual color correction. Set the source to #efdd21 and the target to #e6d975. Add noise, gaussian, 15, monochrome checked.

Merge together layers 5 and 6. Select all, float, defloat. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with a gradient of choice. Do no deselect.

Selections, modify, set selection borders, both sides checked, border width 4, anti-alias checked. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with the same color as the wordart. Deselect.

Add noise, same settings as before.

Open your tube. Copy and paste as a new layer. Move your tube below the frame layer. Place under the frame on the left side. Duplicate, flip horizontal and place the copy under the frame on the right side. Arrange your tubes to your liking. 

Using your magic wand, click inside the left frame. Selections, modify, expand by 3. On the tube on the left side, selections, invert and press delete. Deselect. Do the same for the tube copy on the right side. Merge the two tube layers together.

Duplicate the merged tube layer. Gaussian blur, 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen. On the original tubes layer, set the blend mode to Luminance (L).

On the merged circle layer, select all, float, defloat. Open your texture. Copy and paste as a new layer above your duplicate tubes layer. Selections, invert and press delete. Deselect. Set the blend mode to Overlay, opacity 50.

Open Bow2. Resize by 50%. Copy and paste as a new layer above the frame layer. Place to the upper left of the left frame. Duplicate, flip horizontal and place to the upper right of right frame.

Open the Glitter. Resize by 77%. Copy and paste as a new layer.

Open the Bubbles. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place just under the wordart.

Open the Grass. Resize by 60%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom center of the left circle. Duplicate, flip horizontal and place to the bottom center of the right circle.

Open the Turtle. Resize by 50%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the top, just under the left side of the wordart.

Open the Crab. Resize by 50%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom, just under the turtle.

Open your tube again and resize as necessary. Copy and paste as a new layer and place in the middle. Duplicate your tube layer. Gaussian blur, 3.00. Set the blend mode for this layer to Screen, Opacity 75.

Open the Bush. Resize by 60%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom left of your tube. Duplicate and flip horizontal and place to the bottom right.

Open the Starfish. Resize by 50%, flip horizontal. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the far right, slightly down. Duplicate, flip horizontal. Place to the lower left.

Open Bubbles2. Resize by 77%. Copy and paste as a new layer below the duplicate starfish layer. Place to the right side. Duplicate, flip horizontal, and place to the left side.

Open Ribbon1. Resize by 90%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom of your tag.

Open Bush2. Resize by 60%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the lower right corner.

Open Ribbon2. Resize by 90%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom.

Open the Castle. Resize by 60%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom left corner. 

Arrange the duplicate starfish so it is to the lower right of the castle.

Open the Shell. Resize by 60%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the lower right, to the bottom left of the blue/green bush.

Open the Clam. Resize by 50%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom right corner.

Open the Fish. Resize by 50%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom of the duplicate starfish.

Open Fish2. Resize by 45%, flip horizontal. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the upper right, over the right bow.

Open the Jelly. Resize by 50%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the upper left side, horizontal with fish2.

Open the Sparkles. Resize by 77%. Copy and paste as a new layer. 

Add your name, copyright, and license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice and merge visible. Save as a PNG.
