Emo Style


This tutorial was written by me on May 20th, 2012 and is my own creation.

Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP Version used: PSP9, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies:

Tube of choice. I am using an awesome exclusive by Keith Garvey. This tube can only be obtained from PicsForDesign.com as part of their Exclusive Club. For more information, please visit their site here. You may not use this tube unless you have purchased it from PicsForDesign and obtain the proper licensing.

PTU kit is Emo Gurl Red by Purple Kreationz. You can find the kit here

Template is Collab 42 by Debb & Ladybug. You can download it here

Mask 297 by Weescotslass Creations. You can find it here.

Filters:

Xero Porcelain
Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow
Vanderlee Halftone

Ok lets get started!

Open your template. Resize all layers by 77%. Canvas size set to 600 x 600. 

Delete the following layers: info, glitter stars, raster 3, pixel words, and glitter frame.

Highlight the bottom layer in the layers palette. Open your mask and paper PK-EGR-P9. Copy and paste as a new layer. Apply your mask, merge group.

Merge Raster 2 & Copy of Raster 2 together. Select all, float, defloat. Open paper PK-EGR-P1. Copy and paste as a new layer, selections invert and press delete on your keyboard. Deselect and delete the original layer.

Eye Candy Gradient Glow. Under the Basics tab, change the glow width to 3. Under the color tab, select the fat preset and click ok.

On the Oval layer, select all, float, defloat. Open paper PK-EGR-P15. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete on your keyboard. Deselect and delete the original layer.

Open your tube or a close-up tube. Copy and paste as a new layer. Arrange to your liking within oval paper layer. Duplicate and arrange to your liking again. Merge the tubes together. On the oval paper layer, select all, float, defloat. On the merged tubes layer, selections, invert and press delete on your keyboard. Deselect.

Duplicate the tubes layer twice. On the top tube layer, set the blend mode to Screen, opacity 30. On the original tube layer set the opacity to 30. Now for the middle tube layer.

Vanderlee Halftone with the following settings:

Brightness -23
Contrast -57
Smooth 4
Invert unchecked
Dots color white
Back set to Transparency

Shape section:
Small size -61
Large size 100
Dot Shape set to Circles

Scale section:
Resoluction set to 72.00 DPI
Lines/Inch 5.8

Placement section:
Rotation 109

Randomizer 10

Set the blend mode for this layer to Soft Light, opacity 30.

Open element PK-EGR-FLOWER2. Resize by 60%. Copy and paste as a new layer above your tube layers.

MM Copies. Under the presets, select the Encircle preset, change Shift X to 70, Shift Y to 56.

Open your tube. Copy and paste as a new layer and place on the right side of your template. See mine for reference. Leave for now.

Open element PK-EGR-STRING. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the right side of your tag. See mine for reference.

For all your frame layers, do the following: make sure the layer is highlighted in the layer palette. Manual color correction. Set the Source to #ffffff and the Target color to #b30404.

For all the Box layers, do the following: Select all, float, defloat. Open paper PK-EGR-P16. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete on your keyboard. Deselect and delete the original box layer.

Open your tube again and copy and paste as a new layer over all the white paper box layers. You can be creative when doing this. 

On your white paper box layers, select all, float, defloat. On the tube layers for the box layers, selections invert and press delete on your keyboard. Deselect. 

Xero Porcelain to all tube layers, including the larger tube on the right side of your tag. Change the blue to 0.

On the large tube on the right side of your tag, select all, float, defloat. Select each layer (frame, box, small tube) that covers the top of the tube and use your eraser tool to erase these bits. Deselect.

Open element PK-EGR-FLOWER1. Resize by 45%. Copy and paste as a new layer and place between the top two frames. Duplicate and move to the same position on the bottom two frames. See my tag for reference.

Open element PK-EGR-RIBBON2. Resize by 85%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom of your tag. Image, free rotate, left 25.00.

Open element PK-EGR-BEADEDHEARTS. Resize by 95%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place towards the bottom, over your ribbon. See my tag for reference.

Open element PK-EGR-LIPS. Resize by 50%. Image, free rotate, right 25.00. Place in the upper right corner. Using the same method we used before to erase part of the frame/box/tube, erase any part of the lips that covers your tube.

Open element PK-EGR-CARD. Resize by 85%, mirror. Copy and paste as a new layer and place to the lower left side of your tag.

Open element PK-EGR-CANDYSTICK. Image, rotate clockwise 90. Resize by 70%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom right of your tag. Duplicate, free rotate, 25.00 right. Move so the right side meets the right side of the original. See my tag for reference.

Open element PK-EGR-CUPPY. Resize by 45%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place to the bottom right. See my tag for placement.

Open element PK-EGR-SPARKLES. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place towards the bottom of your tag. Duplicate and set the blend mode for this layer to Overlay. See mine for reference.

Add drop shadows to the layers of your choice. 

Add your name, copyrights, and license info.

Merge visible and save.
