I ♥ Purple

This tutorial was written by me on January 26th, 2012 and is my own creation. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP Version used: PSP9, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies:

Tube of choice. I am using an awesome tube by Celinart Pinup, who is with Scraps and the City. You must purchase a license to use her art.

Kit is I Heart You by Purple's Kreationz. You can purchase this mini kit at Artistically Inclined Licensing.

Mask is CM Exclusive #3 by WitchysHeart. You can download this mask at Creative Misfits Creations.

A fat font. I'm using High Volume Regular.

Open a blank canvas 650 x 450.

Type your name with the fat font, size 200, stroke width 1.1, Foreground black, background white.

With your magic wand tool, select the inside of each letter then promote selection to layer. With the text still selected on your original text layer, press delete. Move the promoted layer below the original text layer. Deselect.

Change your foreground color to #c39dc2 and your background color to #d3d4d9.

Make a gradient out of these two colors. On the background text layer, selections>float, defloat. Floodfill this layer with your gradient. Deselect.

Open your tube. Copy and paste as a new layer. Duplicate twice and place the 3 layers over the text to your liking.

Merge your tube layers together. Duplicate>Adjust>Blur>Gaussian Blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to overlay.

On the merged layer, Adjust>Hue and Saturation> Colorize 0,0.

Adjust>Brightness and Contrast>Gamma Correction set to 2.9 (all of them should be at 2.9).

Add a slight drop shadow to the black frame for the text.

Merge visible.

Open your mask & minimize it.

Open the palette that is included in the kit.

Click on your foreground and go into the gradient tab. Select Edit and then select New and name the gradient.

Here you will make a new gradient out of all the colors in the palette. Make sure to space them evenly. When you're done doing that, click Close. Agree to making changes.

Add a new raster layer and move it below your text. Floodfill this layer with your gradient and apply your mask. Merge group.

Adjust>Add/Remove Noise>Add Noise Random, 50, Monochrome checked.

Open element PK-IHY-STARS1.

Copy and paste as a new layer. Move this to the bottom right of your text. Move the layer to the top layer.

Duplicate the stars, Image>Mirror and move to the upper left of your text. Move this layer below your text layer. See my tag for placement.

Open element PK-IHY-KITTY. Resize by 60%. Move above your right star layer on the bottom right. See my tag for placement.

Open element PK-IHY-STITCHEDHEART. Resize by 60% and place to the bottom left of the text.

Open element PK-IHY-RIBBON3. Copy and paste as a new layer. Image>Mirror and move behind your stitched heart. See my tag for placement.

Paste the ribbon again but move behind the text layer. See my tag for placement.

Add a drop shadow of choice to your elements.

Add your copyright and license info.

Save as a .jpg or .png.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial :)
