Not Perfect

This tutorial was written by me on March 21st, 2012 and is my own creation.

Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP Version used: PSP9, but should work in other versions.

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies:

PTU tube by Zlata M. You must purchase his work and obtain proper licensing to use his work. You may do so here.

PTU kit Tattoo'd Heart by Inzpired Creationz. You can purchase this kit here.

Template 108 by Amy & Leah's Gimptastic Tuts. You can download this template here.

BigMask 016 by Vix PSP. You can download it here.

Font of choice. I am using a free font called Simply Glamorous. You can get it at DaFont.com.

Filters:

PhotoEffex Scanlines

Ok let's get started!

Open your template. Resize down to 600 px wide, resize all layers checked. Image, canvas size 600 x 600.

Delete the credits layer.

On the background layer. Open paper 8 and your mask. Minimize your mask. Copy and paste your paper as a new layer. Apply your mask and merge group.

On your square layer, select all, float, defloat. Open paper 7. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press the delete key on your keyboard. Deselect and delete the original layer.

In your color palette, change the foreground to #ba3e3d and your background to #ffffff. Click on your foreground color and select your gradient tab. Set it to the foreground-background gradient, linear, angle 62, repeats 1.

On your rect 3 layer, select all, float, defloat. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with your gradient. Deselect.

Open your tube, resize if necessary, mirror. Copy and paste as a new layer. Arrange till you're happy with the placement. See my tag for reference. On the gradient layer, select all, float, defloat. On your tube layer, seletions, invert and press delete on your keyboard. Deselect and delete the original layer.

Duplicate your tube. Adjust, blur, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to overlay. Merge down. Set the opacity for this layer to 36.

PhotoEffex Scanlines. Use the default settings.

On your frame layer, adjust, add noise random, 100, monochrome checked. Repeat.

On your rect 2 layer, select all, float, defloat. Maximize the paper you used for the mask, paper 8. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete on your keyboard. Deselect. Delete the original.

On the rect 1 layer, select all, float, defloat. Open paper 6. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete on your keyboard. Deselect and delete the original.

On your circle layer, adjust, brightness and contrast, brightness/contrast set to -255, 100. Select all, float, defloat.

Open a closeup or if using the same tube, just copy and paste with the original size and place over the circle to where you want it. Selections, invert and press delete on your keyboard. Deselect.

Duplicate your tube and add the gaussian blur with the same settings as before. Set the blend mode to overlay and merge down. Set the merged layer's opacity to 40.

Copy and paste your tube (resize if necessary). Move to the left side of the template. Duplicate your tube, apply the same gaussian blur, set the blend mode to overlay. On the original tube layer, colorize your tube to 0, 0. Merge these two layers together.

Open the sign element. Resize by 40%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Move to the upper right side. With your raster deform tool, turn the sign slightly to the right. Move this layer under the circle layer. See my tag for reference.

Open ribbon 3. Resize by 70%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Move this layer to the top and towards the bottom of the tag. See my tag for reference.

On your tube layer, you'll see the bottom half sticking out past the ribbon. Take your eraser tool and delete that part of the tube. Also if any hip or bottom is sticking out past the lower curl of the ribbon, delete that as well.

Open the speaker element. Image, mirror. Resize by 43%. Copy and paste as a new layer above your ribbon. Place to the lower right side of your tag.

Open Sparkles 1. Copy and paste as a new layer.

Open the flower element. Resize by 40%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Place element in the top center, on the edge of the frame. See my tag for reference.

Delete the words 2 back. Adjust, brightness/contrast using the same settings as before.

On the words 1 layer, select all, float, defloat. Add a new raster layer and floodfill this layer of text with color #ba3e3d. Add noise with the same settings as before. Merge the two words layers together.

Because I do not like the thicker and undefined glow that the EyeCandy Gradient Glow gives, I add my own manually from time to time. To do this, on the text layer select all, float, defloat. Selections, modify, expand by 2. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with #ffffff. Move this layer below your text. Merge your text and this white layer together. Easy peasy!

Use a drop shadow of your choice to create depth to the tag elements.

Add your name, a white back as we did with the words layers, and also your copyright and license info.

Merge visible and we're done!

I do hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
